Nevada City Cemetery

The Nevada City Cemetery lies uphill from the old ghost town.Nevada City Cemetery It's quite large, about an acre or more, as I recall. Many of the graves are like the one at the lower right corner of this photo. It has no marker, and is rapidly being taken over by grass and sagebrush.

Both Nicholas Tbalt and his murderer, George Ives, are buried here, but as their graves are among the oldest in the cemetery and outside the fence that was put up afterwards, it is not possible to determine which are their graves. Only by a chill up my spine did I think I had found them, not far from the northeast corner of the fence.
